John received his Bachelor of Fine Art at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and studied at the Institute of European Design in Milan. He also is a graduate of the New York Film Academy’s Documentary Filmmaking Program.
John spent five years as the archivist and printer to artist, mentor and friend, Joel Meyerowitz.
Since, he has worked on a variety of personal projects and in various roles in the photography world. In 2009 he founded the crowd-sourced social documentary project, Picture Black Friday
John's photos have appeared on book-covers both nationally and internationally, including the New York Times bestseller, Eat Pray Love.
His editorial and Commercial clients have included: Sony, Intel, H-P, Oprah and New York Magazine to name a few.
Most recently, John has focussed on filmaking; his most recent “46mm” has appeared in six Film Festivals, both nationally and Internationally.
